  13. I just set this to the side until the rest of my food was ready.

Cooking Tips for Crock Pot Chicken Gravy Meal

Cooking Tips

If you have a liner, this is a great recipe to use a crock pot liner with.

If you want to combine everything but the chicken in a bowl and pour it over the chicken in your crock pot, that works too.

I’ve done it both ways and I don’t notice a difference, it cooks down and it all combines into this beautiful gravy, so whatever you choose to do is fine.

You will notice I’m not adding any additional salt because there is salt in the chicken gravy mix.

I definitely think this is one of those crock pot recipes that you can absolutely make on the high setting, but when you cook it on low, it just takes it to another level.

I usually start preparing the potatoes and the squash or whatever side dishes I’m serving about half an hour before we’re planning on having dinner.

I needed garlic powder and some ground cinnamon, and I’m going to show you guys a really easy kitchen hack to help you prepare these two side dishes.

This is to taste, I just do a small sprinkle, I add a generous pinch of kosher salt, and remember, you can always add more at the end when you taste it, but you can never take it away.

Here’s the kitchen hack, use your mixer.

You guys know I love using my mixer to shred chicken, but I also use it to make my mashed potatoes and also my butternut squash.

This literally takes seconds, and there’s no intense mashing.

This is where you want to check for texture.

If you like them to be on the thicker side, you can leave it as is.

My kids love butternut squash, but they do not like it if there are any pieces, so it has to be smooth in order for them to eat it.

Serving Suggestions

We were going for comfort food, so I was making mashed potatoes and butternut squash as a request by my kiddos.

This is an awesome meal to make for company, or if you have family over.

I hope you guys enjoyed this video, this is, like I said, one of our family favorites, and it is definitely comfort food.
