Hey friends, it’s Kelly and to you today and if you’re new here, welcome, welcome. So this video is all about crockpot cooking. If you guys have been following me for the entire month of October, it’s called Crocktober.
So for the entire month of October, I will be sharing either links or actual typing up recipes or videos like this for crockpot, excuse me, recipes.

Why You’ll Love This
This is a really yummy delicious recipe and I hope that you guys will enjoy it. It’s very simple, easy to do.
When we start moving into October, November, December, you know, the weather is changing. It’s a lot cooler out. The kids are in sports or after school activities. We’ve got the holidays coming up and life just gets extremely busy. And it’s often hard, often times it’s hard to put a good hot meal on the table.
So I thought I would participate in the Crocktober challenge and share a recipe every day for the month of October with all of you. And I think you guys seem to be enjoying it.

Ingredients
- 2 bags of the diced potatoes with onion
- 13 ounces turkey sausage kabasa
- Cheddar cheese (roughly 20 ounces total)
- 10.5 ounce can cream of chicken soup
- Sour cream (about three fourths cup)
- 1 teaspoon garlic
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil

Instructions
- Cut up the kabasa.
- Add a little olive oil to your pan and just fry it up in the pan just to get a little bit crispiness to your kabasa.
- Grate up the cheese.
- Grease the pan (crockpot).
- Open up your potatoes.
- Dump potatoes into the crockpot.
- Put in the meat.
- Give this a nice little stir real quick.
- Add in the cheese, saving just a tiny bit just to kind of throw it on the top a little bit.
- Mix up the rest of the ingredients:
- Dump in just a can of cream of chicken soup.
- Add in a teaspoon of garlic.
- Add in about three fourths cup of sour cream.
- Add a little bit of salt and pepper to taste.
- Mix this up really well.
- Pour it over our potatoes and sausage and cheese.
- Put the lid on it.
- Set the crock pot for low.
- Cook it for about six hours.
- Sprinkle a little bit of cheese that you have left on top.

Cooking Tips
You can use hash browns if you want and you can actually use actual potatoes if you like. Just slice some thin. You may need to have the cooking go a little bit longer if you actually do use potatoes.
You can add onion mine already has the onion in there. So if your potatoes don’t, you can get ahead and put onion in there.
I have not made this on this way, but I thought to myself, I was showering this morning and I’m thinking, what do this would taste like if I use the southwest hash browns? I think it would have a really good kick. I might have to try that and let you guys know.
Now with that said, you do not have to do this, but I like to do it. I like to cut up my kabasa at a little olive oil to my pan and just fry it up in the pan just to get a little bit crispiness to my kabasa because I just prefer it that way, but you absolutely do not need to do it. You can just cut it up and throw it in the crock pot.
I like to cut mine small. I don’t know if you guys ever noticed that whenever I have meat, I always cut it small. I just have a very small mouth and from having bells palsy, I have a little bit of paralysis in my mouth and it makes it difficult for me to chew many foods. So I do have to cut it up small.
You could probably use a liner as well, if you wanted to, to make sure those potatoes do not stick.
I use a nice hefty cheese spoon because we like garlic in our house.
I don’t know if you guys ever noticed when I mix things, I always put half in it, stir it, and then I come back and put the other half in and stir again.
Serving Suggestions
We have soccer tonight. So this is a perfect dish. We can eat it before we leave.
