This beef stew in a crock pot has big chunks of beef and vegetables that have been cooking all day in the best gravy.
It’s the best meal to make for your family on a Sunday. For years, I’ve made this and love to serve it with our favorite rolls. It tastes so good! Everyone in my family loves this meal, even the kids. 🙂

Ingredients

Ingredients for Crock Pot Beef Stew

  • 2 packets of dry onion soup mix (1 ounce each)
  • 2 pounds of beef stew meat or a boneless beef roast
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
  • Five medium potatoes
  • two to three cups of baby carrots
  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 2 cans of cream of celery soup, each 10 ounces
  • 1 cup of ketchup (if you don’t like ketchup, you can use tomato sauce instead)

Instructions

    1. Cut 2 pounds of beef stew meat or a boneless beef roast into 1-inch pieces.
    2. Five medium potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes.
    3. 1 small yellow onion, cut up.
    4. Put the dry onion soup mix and paprika in a big plastic bag.

  1. Put the meat in the bag and shake it to coat it with the spices. You might have to do that step in two parts so that all the meat fits.
  2. Spread the meat out evenly in a greased 7-quart crock pot once it has been coated.
  3. Spread the diced potatoes, carrots, and onion evenly over the meat.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the ketchup and cream of celery soup.
  5. Put the mixture over the meat and vegetables.
  6. Put the lid on the crock pot.
  7. Cook on low heat for 7 to 8 hours, or until the meat is done and the vegetables are soft.
  8. Mix everything together and then serve.
