Cooking Tips
This one can withstand a long cook time.
Basically if it says roast on the package That’s what you want.
They’re cheaper than a steak per pound because they have a lot more fat and tough tissue running through them So the slow cooking works well because it breaks that down through the process and it goes
Literally everything gets dumped in pantry staples do not count as ingredients
You want it to be seasoned throughout.
You can use a half or up to a whole jar.
This is a dinner you can prepare right before you head out the door for work locked and loaded
This one can go low for like eightish hours or high for about five hours.
If you want to add more than five ingredients you totally can a can of being some peppers Whatever I’m trying to keep it on the simple side with only five
I’ve got a bone to pick when it comes to cooking chicken in the crock pot every recipe I see calls for way too much time if you need more than four hours If you’re gonna be gone for a while then start with frozen chicken It will turn out just as good and way better than if you overcook this my rule of thumb two hours tops on high and four hours tops on low
Those frozen chicken breasts will give you an extra couple hours.
I like to leave it in kind of big shreds because this is our hardy dinner.
You don’t want to break them up completely They will kind of cook and kind of melt into this.
I like to go to where it’s kind of like browned and crispier on the edge a little bit.
You could cube it up and then it might be easier to serve.
If you can find your pork chops with this darker color to them That’s kind of a little more tender a little more juicy Just a little secret when you’re in the store
Your pork is not like beef. This does not take that long to cook.
Mine’s a little kicked up because my taco seasoning was like a Spicy or taco seasoning plus I used a medium salsa, but you could dial this down if you’ve got kids who don’t like Spiciness
This stew meat is like our roast So it’s going to take a long time to cook So this one you can go low eight hours or high four to five hours.
Classic beef stroganoff. You usually finish it off with some sour cream. This one gets cream cheese That’s gonna kind of hold up to the hot temperatures a little bit better But you could also do sour cream at this point.
Four ounces of cream cheese that is softened You don’t want to put it in cold because it’ll break.
I don’t really want to dice it up with forehand because then it could overcook.
You want to make sure you’ve got about three cups of liquid.
If you wanted to save a little money here You could also use like an herb and garlic flavored cream cheese and that would work from
Sometimes these are on sale at Costco, so that’s why I always get double.
That orezo is going to absorb this liquid and it’s gonna be so creamy and delicious.
That cheese is a secret weapon that you need to keep in your kitchen arsenal You don’t have to add any extra cream or anything to that It did all this and then when you cook the orezo in there the starch from that makes it extra creamy
Serving Suggestions
Get that crusty bread for this because there’s a lot of juice you don’t want to start with a soggy bread It will never work for this.
I also am gonna make another suggestion which I know is not traditional But it’s also a sixth ingredient so I couldn’t bring it up add a little sliced provolone cheese to this And thank me later, but you don’t have to have it
My husband insisted on a little cup of the juice next to it.
You can top it with more cheese if you want. I’m adding in a little avocado and some peek at a guy.
We’ll serve it over some rice.
Optional fresh parsley.
I like the buttery egg noodles for the base.
I’m also gonna add in we’ll crack pepper.
This is optional You could always just do a salad on the side about five minutes before you’re ready to eat just stir this in and we’ll all Wilt in.
Just a little squeeze of lemon What it does is just pure magical just to brighten everything up.
Y’all are gonna have to let me know of course after you make all of them
These are definitely a step-off from that classic beef stew or chili that you keep in your crock pot
Try something new with one of these today and let me know what you think
