Instructions for making cheesy sausage and tortellini

Instructions

  1. The first thing that we want to do is chop up our sausage.
  2. Brown this in a skillet. This is not part of the recipe, so feel free to skip this and just put everything in the crock pot if you choose to do so.
  3. If browning, add my sausage to the skillet once heated.
  4. Pull that from the skillet once nice and brown.
  5. We’re keeping this super simple, we’re just going to dump everything in the crock pot except the cheese.
  6. We’re going to start with that sausage that we just browned.
  7. For the tortellini, I want to use a cheese tortellini, you need about 18 ounces.
  8. We’re also going to add three cups of chicken broth.
  9. We’re also going to add a couple handfuls of spinach.
  10. We’re going to add one can of a tortell, it does not need to be drained.
  11. We’re going to add some seasoning, start with salt, then pepper, you’ll need about a tablespoon and a half of Italian seasoning, and this is optional, but a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  12. Give it a good toss to get everything kind of well combined with these seasonings in there.
  13. Now that we have that toss to combine, we’re going to add one block of cream cheese on top.
  14. Next, we’re going to set the crock pot on low and cook it for four to six hours.
  15. For the last hour, we’re going to go ahead and add our cheeses.
  16. You need about one cup of mozzarella and then you’ll need about a half a cup of the Italian blend.
  17. Now I’m going to give it a quick stir to combine everything.
  18. Pop the lid back on.
  19. Spoon this up and do a taste test.

Cooking Tips

This is not part of the recipe, so feel free to skip this and just put everything in the crock pot if you choose to do so.

I think if I did it again, I’d probably do with the recipe calls and do a cup and a half of cheese instead of three cups of cheese because it is cheese overload y’all.

If you make this recipe, let us know in the comments.

Have a blessed week.

Bye, y’all.
